Dear Parents and Carers,
In order to lower the risk for teachers and yourselves during this difficult time, I have made the decision to cancel this week's Parents' Evenings. I am sure you will understand this is decision has been a difficult one now that bookings have been made and teachers are prepared.
We will re-arrange more dates as soon as we are able to.
I receive daily updates from the DfE and I am working closely with our Trust and other schools to ensure we are quick to take action if need be. We have plans in place should the government decide to close schools. Despite the news reports, they have made no indication to us as Head teachers, that this will happen any time soon.
In school, we have been teaching the children all about hand-washing and the importance of it at any time. This links directly to the Science curriculum for each year group. We have shared fun videos with all our classes about how to wash hands effectively. We are ensuring pupils do this as much as possible throughout the school day.
From today, I have cancelled all our 'mass gatherings,' where the whole school comes together, such as assemblies. Lunches are already carried out in sittings, which supports this.
Should you become concerned about a pupil or someone in your family, please follow the NHS advice. We would be grateful if you could inform the school office too. I have created a page on our website, which has updates for you. They will also continue to come to you through the WEDUC app.
A huge thank to all of you for your support at this challenging time.
