Miss Radley and Mrs Boulstridge are very excited to welcome back Year 1 for our last half term!
This term, our topic is called 'Oh I do like to be beside the seaside!'. This is a History and Geography based topic where we will be learning about the seaside and history of seaside resorts.
We ask that parents ensure that P.E kit is in school all week and sent home for washing at the end of a half term. A reminder that with the better, warmer weather, we will be doing outside where possible. Please could you still send your child with a warm jumper and jogging bottoms just in case it is a little cool outside.
PE for both classes is a Monday afternoon and Tuesday afternoon for Mrs Boulstridge. Miss Radley's second session is on a Wednesday afternoon.
Reading is part of homework and we expected children to read at least 3 times a week to become a regular reader. The children can read as many of their banded books from school as they can as well as their phonics Dandelion book. Bug Club is our online reading platform and this should be used alongside reading physical books. Please make sure that you don't read all of the books in one go, as there is only a limited number available per book band for us to allocate. We are trying really hard to get 100% in our weekly Regular Reader competition. Let's see if we can achieve this, this term!
