Welcome back to school!
Welcome to Year 2. We are very lucky to have Mrs Snowdon and Mrs Yerolomou helping us in Year 2 this year as well as Mrs Gamble and Mrs Davies covering our planning time.
We are currently following a whole school Recovery Curriculum plan, focussed on core subjects, to support our pupils as best we can to catch up.
Our work has been focused around India. The children really enjoyed the story ‘The Wheels on the Tuk Tuk’ and have remembered lots of new vocabulary including: chai, yogi, yogi master, sacred and Diwali.
We have just started a new story called ‘The Tiger Child’ which is about a small tiger cub who wants to be a cat. The children have learnt more new vocabulary and sequenced the story.
In Maths we are recapping how to represent numbers in different forms and lots of children have enjoyed completing the Maths homework to support our learning. We are moving onto number bonds now and then the four operations.
We ask that parents ensure that PE kits is in school all week and sent home as required for washing through the term and at the end of a half term. A reminder that as the weather gets colder, we ask that parents send their child with a warm jumper and jogging bottoms for outdoor PE sessions.
Miss Veazey’s PE days are: Tuesday and Thursday.
Miss Brailsford’s PE days are: Tuesday and Friday.
