Welcome to Year 3! This term our new topic is ‘Stone Alone’ with a history focus. Our class text is ‘Stone Age Boy’ by Satoshi Kitamura and we will be writing a diary entry and narrative. In Art, we will be making our very own stone age tools using joining techniques with clay. We will be learning all about skeletons and movement in science as well as fundamental movements and ball skills in PE.
Miss Holroyd's and Miss Lloyd’s class will have PE on Monday and Wednesday.
Please ensure your child has joggers and jumper in their PE bag in case there is cooler weather. We do suggest children bringing their PE kit into school all week, as sometimes there are unforeseen changes to timetabling or additional opportunities where children may require their kit on other days.
Please share books or listen to your child read at least three times a week. We also ask that you please record these times in your child's home-school diary so their efforts can be acknowledged and rewarded.
Children will receive weekly spellings on Mondays and tested on the following Monday. These spellings are taught in school during that week by the class teacher.
Children need to practise games on TT Rockstars three times a week.
