Curriculum
We hope you had a lovely Easter break. This half term our new, interesting topic is ‘Wild Wonders’ with a science focus. Year 3 will be learning about plant dissection, stem and water transportation and the life cycle of plants.
Our new class text is ‘James and the Giant Peach’ by Roald Dahl and we will be writing a letter as one of the characters.
In French, we will be learning about ‘Dans Ma Ville’ (in my town) and creating artwork inspired by the artist Georgia O’Keefe in our art lessons. The children will be learning about cricket and tennis in PE this half term.
PE Days
Miss Lloyd and Miss Holroyd’s class have double PE on Wednesdays.
Please ensure your child has joggers and jumper in their PE bag in case there is cooler weather. We do suggest children bringing their PE kit into school all week, as sometimes there are unforeseen changes to timetabling or additional opportunities where children may require their kit on other days.
Reading
Please share books or listen to your child read at least three times a week. We also ask that you please record these times in your child's home-school diary so their efforts can be acknowledged and rewarded.
Homework
Thank you for supporting the children with their Egypt holiday research last half term. The children will continue to receive weekly spellings on Mondays and tested on the following Monday. These spellings are taught in school during that week by the class teacher.
Children need to practise games on TT Rockstars three times a week
