Miss Newton and Mrs McConnell are very excited to be back in school for the beginning of the summer term and are ready for a fun filled half term of learning!
This half term, our topic is called ‘Wild Wonders’. This is a science-based topic focused on plants and flowers. We will be learning all about the parts of plants, their functions, what plants need to survive and how they reproduce. As part of this topic, we will look also study our local environment in Shepshed and look at any changes over time. In art we will be exploring floral patterns and producing observational drawings.
We ask that parents ensure that P.E kit is in school all week and sent home as required for washing through the term and at the end of a half term. A reminder that we ask that parents send their child with a warm jumper and jogging bottoms for outdoor P.E sessions.
Miss Newton's P.E day is a Wednesday and Mrs McConnell's P.E days are Wednesday and Friday.
Our ‘regular reader’ scheme will be running again this half term so we would really like to see all of Year 3 committing to reading 3 times a week or more at home.
This will now be set on Google Classroom each week. Weekly spellings will continue to be stuck in home school diaries.
