We are pleased to announce our extra curricular offer to pupils during Spring 1, 2021. ...
Miss Hawksworth and Mr Pratt hope that all our Year 5 families have had a wonderful Christmas break. We are very much looking forward to returning to school for Spring 1 and teaching once more. We have been so proud of how hard the children have worked and have settled back into school last term. The children have produced some fantastic work surrounding their Autumn topics ‘Rainforest Rescue' and 'Shakespearian Summer'.
In addition, we have been incredibly proud to the children's commitment to reading this term. Especially in engaging with our 'Regular Readers' and 'Bug Club' which was introduced last term. We would like to remind parents that children are expected to read a minimum of 3 times per week, and this must be noted and signed in the diary in order to participate in the weekly competition.
We look forward to another successful term ahead and thank you in advance for your continued support to our school community.
This term, we will be introducing our new topic called 'Seismic Space'. This is an exciting topic where the children will learn all about space and Leicester's involvement through history with the famous Space Race! Alongside this, we will be enriching this topic by reading various non-fiction texts.
We will also be beginning our new 'Reading for Pleasure' text this term called Murder Most Unladylike by Robin Stevens which we were fortunate to have a live webinar with last term. This text is an exciting mystery and detective story written just for children!

We ask that parents ensure that PE kit is in school all week and sent home as required for washing through the term and at the end of a half term. A reminder that as the weather gets colder, we ask that parents send their child with a warm jumper and jogging bottoms for outdoor PE sessions.
Mr Pratt's class PE Days are: Monday and Wednesday.
Miss Hawksworth PE days are: Monday and Friday.
