During Autumn 2, 2020, all 389 of our pupils took part in our annual pupil survey. We are thrilled with the results; most notably that our children all feel tha...
Miss Hawksworth and Mr Pratt hope that all our Year 5 families have had a wonderful half term break. We are very much look forward to returning to school during Spring 2 and teaching face-to-face once again. We have been so proud of how resilient and motivated the children have been whilst learning virtually on Google Classroom. Year 5 have worked continuously hard so far this year and we hope they return with this same excellent mind-set. The children have produced some fantastic work online in relation to our Spring 1 topic ‘Seismic Space’.
We would like to remind parents that children are expected to read a minimum of 3 times per week, which should be school banded books or using Bug Club, and this must be noted and signed in the diary in order to participate in the weekly competition.
We look forward to another successful term ahead and thank you for your continued support to our school community.
This term, we will be introducing our new topic called ‘Visionary Victorians’. This is an exciting topic where the children will learn all about the Victorian era focussing on Queen Victoria's reign, the industrial revolution and the British Empire. We will be enriching this topic by reading various non-fiction texts and Street Child by Berlie Doherty.
On our return, we will also be continuing our 'Reading for Pleasure' text called Murder Most Unladylike by Robin Stevens.

We ask that parents ensure that PE kit is in school all week and sent home as required for washing through the term and at the end of a half term. A reminder that as the weather gets colder, we ask that parents send their child with a warm jumper and jogging bottoms for outdoor PE sessions.
For Mr Pratt's class, PE days are every Tuesday and Wednesday.
For Miss Hawksworth's class, PE days are every Tuesday and Friday.
