This term, our topic is 'Mighty Maya', where we learn all about the Maya civilisation. In our history lessons, we will learn about the hierarchy of the Maya, their Gods and the way they lived.
In English, we will be writing instructions for Maya hot chocolate, a non-chronological report and a story based on a traditional Maya myth.
Continuing the Maya theme, we will be making Day of the Dead inspired stuffed toys in our DT learning, where will learn to sew using different stitch types.
Mr Pratt's class have PE on a Tuesday and a Friday.
Miss Veazey's class have PE on a Tuesday and a Thursday.
Please ensure that your child has their PE kit in school each day.
The children have homework set weekly, in both English and Maths. This homework is set on a Monday and will be due the following Monday. Year 6 complete all of their homework online.
We also encourage the children to read three times weekly, as part of our Regular Readers competition, as well as learning their weekly spellings. Weekly spellings will be tested on a Monday.
The children also need to play on TTRS each week as part of their homework.
