Miss Kruger, Mr Akiens and Mrs Pickering are looking forward to seeing our fabulous Year 6s back in school soon (hopefully!).
You are all doing a fantastic job of your online learning – we are so proud of you all! The quality of work is excellent and you are all demonstrating your maturity and independence. It is lovely to see so many of you in our live lessons each day, but we can’t wait to be back with you in person!
This term, our topic is called ‘I’m an evacuee...get me out of here!’. This is a history-based topic, focusing on World War II and its impact on Britain, Europe and the world as a whole. We will be learning about the causes of the Second World War, the Allies and the Axis powers, persecution of the Jewish people and the war’s effects on British life. Pupils will be creating their own propaganda posters and exploring what life was like for evacuees. We will even have a visit from a Chief Air Raid Warden as pupils are taken back to 1939 through a range of exciting hands-on activities!

We ask that parents ensure that PE kit is in school all week and sent home as required for washing through the term and at the end of a half term. A reminder that as the weather gets colder, we ask that parents send their child with a warm jumper and jogging bottoms for outdoor PE sessions.
