This section of our website provides guidance for parents on how we are helping pupils in all year groups to catch up on missed learning, as a result of the pandemic.
To build on our extensive curriculum adaptations, tutoring and interventions for pupils in the 2020-21 academic year, we have written a report which details how we will go about supporting all pupils and key groups in the 2021-22 academic year. You can find this here.
Tutoring is at the core of our catch up plans. We will continue to be providing free of charge tutoring with teachers on Tuesday afternoons after school to invited pupils only. We invite pupils based on their teacher assessment and test data, which identifies those who need the most support. Sessions are planned to support pupils in closing gaps. These groups are reassessed termly.
This is a brand new resource for parents who may be interested in obtaining further support for their children in catching up on missed learning or gaps in knowledge. This includes specialist advice for pupils with SEND, Mental Health issues and pupils who are in our Early Years (Nursery and Reception).
We have a number of ways in which we support all pupils in school including our Relationships Education, Character Education and PSHE. We also offer many pupils extra support through our SENCo, who can make referrals to external professionals. We also have an ELSA in school full time, who supports pupils with mental health worries and concerns. This is a useful resource for supporting families further.
