Leicester City Star and Ex Pupil Visits Newcroft
We have been so lucky to have received a special visit from football superstar, of Leicester City Football Club first team, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall this summer term! This inspirational visit was made all the more special as Kiernan is an ex pupil and local boy of Shepshed. He attended Newcroft right through this primary school life and at 8 years old, joined the Leicester youth team, which started his journey to the first team at Leicester City.
Kiernan spent the afternoon with us, talking to pupils and staff and reminiscing about his time at Newcroft. He loved seeing how the school has changed and wishes that he had been around with all our new sporting facilities and sports hall that have been installed since he left!
He took part in PE lessons with Years 3 and 5 and led an inspirational assembly. Children in all year groups asked him questions. His story focussed around how hard he worked on his school work while training at Leicester. Our pupils learned what 'aspiring for excellence' looks like in a real life hero!
