A growing ability to form strong and positive relationships with others depends on the deliberate cultivation of character traits and positive personal attributes.
Pupils are taught about how to be resilient and effective learners through our ‘Character Education’ work, Routes to Resilience. At Newcroft, our pupils focus on 30 ‘key’ words, which they acquire over time. The acquiring or these keys also supports pupils positive emotional and mental well-being. Our aim is to enable our pupils to be resilient and effective citizens when they leave us at the end of Year 6 for their next journey.
We have 30 ‘character keys’ which are split into: 10 EYFS words, 10 KS1 words and 10 KS2 words
