This half term our topic is Amazing Animals. In science we will be looking at animals and we will begin by sorting them into domestic or wild animals and then classifying them according to if they are herbivores, carnivores or omnivores. We will also continue to observe seasonal changes and monitor how the weather is different in each season.
In Art, we will continue to look closely at animals by observing their patterns and markings on their skin. The children will explore colour mixing and use simple printing techniques and choose different items that can be used as tools to replicate the markings observed.
As soon as we return from the break, we will begin our rehearsals for the carol concert that will be held at St Botolph's church on the 9th and 11th December. Further details will be issued nearer the time.
PE
Miss Brailsford’s class has PE on Tuesdays..
Mrs Lloyd's class has PE on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Please ensure that children have the correct PE kit, suitable for both indoor and outdoor activities.
This half term, children will continue to take part in our Regular Readers initiative.
We kindly remind parents that children need to read at least three times per week to qualify for the Regular Reader Treat at the end of the term. This reward celebrates those who have consistently met the reading expectation throughout the half term.
Thank you for your continued support in encouraging a love of reading at home!
The children have homework set weekly for reading and spelling. This homework is set on a Monday and will be due the following Monday. All homework will be in home school diaires and sent via WEDUC.
We encourage the children to read at least 3 times weekly, as part of our Regular Readers competition, as well as learning their weekly spellings. Weekly spellings will be tested on a Monday.
We also encourage children to play on Numbots each week to support Maths progress.
A creative task will also be set each half term, details of which will be printed on the homework sheet.
